Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Robert Rini’s family moved to Indianapolis at an early age. He noted that even then he was creatively driven; often producing detailed drawings of everything from his family to the landscape of his yard. Hundreds gathered to witness the dedication ceremony on 9/11/11, the tenth anniversary of the WTC attacks.
As all Americans will attest, the events of 9/11/2001 changed the world as we knew it. John Wiley, President and Owner of Dream Street Graphics, was carrying his first-born 2 week old son when he saw the first plane collide with the World Trade Center. “Like everyone else, I was initially confused. I drove into work but when the media started reporting that terrorists were responsible – all I could think about was my family and what the victims’ families could possibly be experiencing.” When he arrived at work, Wiley shut the doors and immediately sent everyone home to spend time with their families. Project 9/11 Indianapolis semi-truck and Ground Zero beams.
As most of you know, this Sunday is the tenth anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 in New York City. Two years ago, Project 9/11 Indianapolis was started by an Indianapolis Firefighter (Greg Hess) to honor the lives lost during one of the darkest days of American history. Both steel beams put into place today at 421 W. Ohio St.
With the dedication ceremony less than a week away, significant progress was made today at the Project 9/11 Indianapolis memorial site. At 9:30am on Wednesday morning, the Project 9/11 Indianapolis semi-truck (emblazoned with vehicle graphics courtesy of Dream Street Graphics) parked in front of the memorial’s 421 W. Ohio address. Over 50 feet of semi-truck and trailer needed to be designed and wrapped within one week (note: a typical vehicle wrap for a pick-up truck takes three days from start to finish).
